The Near-Surface Seismic Investigation Consortium (NSSIC)

Consortium Activities

The Consortium will focus on the following concurrent activities:

1.      Executing research activities in the areas outlined in the section “Current Research Areas of the Consortium”.

2.      Biweekly meetings of the Consortium’s research team.  The main objective of these meetings is to communicate progress done through the past 2 weeks as well as focusing the research objectives at various stages.

3.      Bimonthly meetings of the Consortium Advisory Committee, which involves the Consortium’s research team and representatives from the current sponsors.   The goal of these meetings is to show the sponsors the current Consortium’s research activities and get their input on the Consortium’s research focus.

4.      Annual meeting that involves technical presentations by team members of their research results.  Professionals and administrators from KFUPM and current sponsors will be invited to this meeting.

5.      Production of the Consortium Annual Report that details the Consortium research activities and highlights the road ahead.  This report will be provided only to current sponsors.

6.      Involving KFUPM graduate students in the various research activities of the Consortium, therefore focusing the students’ research on problems that are of importance to petroleum companies working in the region.

7.      Involving KFUPM faculty members, from outside the Consortium research team, in the Consortium’s research activities, therefore increasing the number of researchers working on problems of interest to our sponsors.
